Chelsey began her studies on the cello at age eight and grew up in Fair Haven, NJ. Shortly after, she began performing with the New Jersey State Youth Orchestra where she first met the members of Four Shore Strings. Chelsey continued to perform with Maria in chamber and small ensemble settings throughout high school. She later earned her B.M. in Music Education with a Specialization in Instrumental Music from The College of New Jersey. She began her teaching career in the Lumberton School District, teaching 4th-6th grade strings for three years and helping to develop a string program in the elementary schools. Chelsey is currently the instrumental strings teacher at Marlboro Middle School and Marlboro Memorial Middle School where she assists in New Jersey Region II and All State Orchestras. Chelsey is also the current conductor of the preparatory division of The New Jersey State Youth Orchestra and the Vice President of All Shore Orchestra. In 2018, Chelsey served as the conductor of the CJMEA Intermediate Honor’s Orchestra. She is an active freelance cellist and enjoys performing with the Monmouth Symphony Orchestra and Sinfonietta Nova. Chelsey currently resides in Red Bank, NJ.
